Industrial Floor Applications

Before any coating can be installed all the prep needs to be done. Usually more labor and materials are involved in repairing bad column post supports, motor or equipment supports, concrete blow outs, large cracks in concrete floors, large separation of the concrete floor, and concrete floor slope issues. Standing water on an industrial floor means trouble in a hundred ways. Slip and fall of employees, damage to equipment bases, or structural supports of a building. The next few picture show common issues on industrial floors.

Once the floor is clean and dry, Durabak 18 can be applied to ensure a clean, safe working area against slip and fall accidents, and keep the equipment and building supports free of rust and other chemical attacks.

The different colors of Durabak products can be used to mark off safety areas, show where a path slopes off, mark off fork truck traffic areas, and much more!

To seal floor drains, the concrete must first be repaired with polymer concrete, then the area can be coated with 2 coats of Durabak 18 smooth at 10 wet mils thickness. The same treatment can be applied to motor stands and large fan mounts.

Large pipes and large storage vessels need to repaired with polymer concrete, before the area can be coated with two coats of Durabak 18 smooth at 10 wet mils thickness.

There are many other areas in an industrial plant where Durabak 18 smooth or non slip can be used to prevent water intrusion, slip and falls, chemical erosion of concrete, steel and wood, and to prevent rusting of equipment.

Drains of all shapes and sizes can be rebuilt or restored using polymer concrete, and can then be coated with 2 coats of Durabak 18 smooth at 10 wet mils thickness. Use of the MMA type of polymer concrete provides a 9000 PSI concrete in 45 minutes and then the area can be restored usually within 4 to 6 hours. Three men can repair roughly 10,000 sq. ft. of area in a 10 hour day after the prep is done. It is safe to plan for a project to take 2 days to restore a roughly 10,000 sq. ft. area; one day to do the prep work, and the second to install the Durabak 18 and clean up the area for production.
